Application of Hose Pumps in Fermentation Processes

Fermentation processes are widely used in the production of beer, wine, yeast, dairy products, seasonings, and various biotechnological products. During fermentation, yeast, fermentation liquids, and various additives need to be transferred reliably between storage tanks, fermentation vessels, and filtration equipment. Since some fermentation media are sensitive to shear forces, aeration, and mechanical impact, the pumping equipment needs to maintain a stable flow while minimizing its impact on the product.

In beer production and other fermentation processes, hose pumps can also be used for the transfer and controlled dosing of fermentation liquids, beverage slurries, as well as additives such as flavors, colorants, and stabilizers. For fermentation media containing yeast, solid particles, or materials with a certain viscosity, hose pumps offer good handling capability.

Typical Applications:

  • Yeast dosing and controlled addition

  • Yeast transfer and recovery

  • Fermentation liquid circulation and transfer

  • Transfer of fermented beverages such as beer and wine

  • Fermentation slurry transfer

  • Addition of flavors, colorants, and stabilizers

  • Transfer of post-fermentation materials

  • Feeding of filtration equipment

  • Dosing of auxiliary chemicals during fermentation processes
